The Risks of Small Fire Arms

The Permanent Peace Movement (PPM) organized a series of workshops in different regions of Lebanon to raise awareness on the dangers of fire arms and their current impact on the Lebanese society.

With the support of FES, The Permanent Peace Movement (PPM) has organized and implemented a series of seminars and workshops involving many municipalities and NGOs in different regions of the country to raise awareness on the dangers that small fire arms pose on the Lebanese society. PPM’S main objective is to reduce the risk and usage of these fire arms in Lebanon. The first seminar took place in Tripoli and participants included government representatives, governors, heads of municipalities, NGOs and groups of citizens. These stakeholders were in turn encouraged to commit by raising awareness in their communities and assisting in the monitoring and reporting of violations concerning this cause.
