Inter-societal and regional Dialogue

Our fields of work

Secular state

The FES supports initiatives that advocate for a secular state. The demand for a secular system as a prerequisite for a just society implies that the collective understanding of secularism must change. Rather than being perceived as a threat to religious beliefs, secularism must be understood as the foundation of a just society free from clientelism. Without this understanding, joint political efforts by secular associations and civil society organizations advocating for human rights—especially the rights of women, people with disabilities, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and refugees—will not lead to the broader acceptance of secularism as a basis for political transformation in the country.

Knowledge Production

As a think tank, the FES produces numerous policy papers, studies, guidelines, and other materials such as documentaries and podcasts. These aim to provide knowledge that can inform political decision-making, while also supplying the broader public with facts, insights, and new findings—introducing progressive ideas into the national debate.
