Timely for the upcoming election the website youthmonitorLB went online to give young people the chance get in direct contact with candidates.
In many countries independent websites already do exist which enable voters and candidates to get directly in contact with one another. This has inspired the Masar Association with support of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung to set up such a webpage also for the Lebanese people.
As last election happened already back in 2009 there is al large share of first time voters. So Masar took the opportunity to put a special focus on young voters. Questionnaires were sent to candidates and the results and feedback is published on www.youthmonitorlb.org which went online today.
Also May elections are certainly the peg for the launching today the website project is a long term one. We hope that this great initiative of Masar Association embraced by Lebanese voters and politicians in the future. So, feel free to have a look!
