Berlin in Beirut

The FES Lebanon Office received a delegation from FES headquarters, headed by Chairman Martin Schulz. Other members of the delegation were Elisabeth Braun, head of MENA department, and Salam Said, policy advisor at the MENA department.

The visit included meetings and discussions with various think tanks, civil society organizations, researchers, newly elected MPs, and progressive groups.

Insights from the local context, Germany, and the EU were exchanged regarding a variety of topics such as but not limited to the economic crisis, parliamentary elections, policy reforms, etc.
