Local and foreign speakers led the discussions over two days and answered the questions and concerns of civil society attendees, who in turn found the discussions fruitful and highly informative as they tackled the following topics: subcontracting process, stakeholder consultations, pre-source curse, onshore law and transparency. The Lebanese Petroleum Administration was represented by its chairman Walid Nasr who praised the efforts of civil society to follow and contribute in having a healthy administration of the sector. The panels consisted of advisors, directors, experts as well as former and current parliament members who have all agreed that civil society is an essential contributor in decision making, assessment, legislation and supervision of the sector.
