New Online Tracking Tool for the Oil and Gas Sector

In partnership with FES, the Lebanese Oil and Gas Initiative held a press conference during which Diana Kaissy, Executive Director of LOGI, showcased recent developments in their advocacy work in the Oil and Gas sector. Miss. Kaissy launched LOGI’s online tool to track the progress of ten recommendations, introduced during the conference, dealing with transparency, the role of civil society, and regulations of the above-mentioned sector, among others. Miss. Kaissy emphasized the importance of potential oil and gas resources in Lebanon, and labeled the sector as a golden opportunity for the Lebanese economy, one that requires a concerted effort from all governmental and non-governmental stakeholders. Furthermore, discussion forums with a diverse panel of local experts and stakeholders will be held on October 24-25, as well as a regional workshop for sharing expertise with participants from several MENA countries on November 8 and 9 2018.
